The Kentfield School District Board of Trustees on July 1, 2008 unanimously approved Mary Jo Pettegrew as Superintendent of the Kentfield School District.

Mary Jo Pettegrew comes to us from the Walnut Creek School District where she has been Director of Curriculum and Administrative Services. Prior to being appointed Director of Curriculum, Mary Jo has been a principal for 10 years in both Napa Unified and the Walnut Creek School District, a teacher, and a classroom instructional assistant.

Her background as a district leader includes: strategic planning, budget alignment, curriculum design and implementation, program assessment, and community partnerships. The qualities that Mary Jo Pettegrew brings to this position are her integrity, honesty, relationship building, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to create and promote strong teams.

According to Mary Jo:  My educational vision is to foster strong partnerships with parents, staff, and community as children are a treasure, Kentfield's treasure. As a community, we need to ensure that students are taught to high standards in the most creative and innovative ways. It is our job to model character and help all children realize their full potential so they can succeed in our global society.
