If anything can brighten the first week back from vacation it is Maker Night at Bacich. This highly-anticipated, engaging and fun event just gets better every year. The creating and coordinating team of Sarah Killingsworth, Annalyn Chargualaf-Peluso, Kira Hallemeir and Maggie Harris once again organized and facilitated an experience of discovery and wonder for our students and their parents. Thanks to them and to the dozens of staff members who guided participants in their explorations into “touch and taste.”

It’s time for giving input on the District’s progress toward goals, and direction for the upcoming year. I will be hosting office hours in the next few weeks when families, staff and students can come share with me your thoughts on how the District is faring and where we can improve. If you shared your thoughts in the Youth Truth Survey in the Fall, they have been duly noted, and a visit to reiterate them is not required. But I am open and ready to listen if you want to stop by 750 College Avenue at any of these times: April 24, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.; April 29, 12 - 4 p.m.; May 1, 3 - 7 p.m.

And, finally, I am so pleased to have been asked by the School Board to extend my stay in Kentfield for at least another year. When I announced my retirement in March, I had no intent of leaving the district in a position of having to get by with an interim superintendent, but circumstances outside of our control indicated that that would be the case. We are in the middle of too much good work to press the pause button! Thank you for the kind messages you have sent expressing happiness at this development. I too am looking forward to continuing to make great things happen for students in our district for the remainder of my tenure in Kentfield.
