It was my pleasure to attend the kickoff meeting of the KSPTA’s standing committee on equity and inclusion last week. Chaired by parent, Christy Chandler, the group took its first steps toward better reaching and engaging the families of our school community who have historically not accessed the full complement of resources, events, and connections that typify the Kentfield School District.

The committee will serve in an advisory role to the KSPTA Executive Board, as well as a liaison to other groups working to make the KSD more inclusive, such as the District English Language Advisory Committee, kik, the school board, and district staff. If you are interested in attending one of these meetings or learning more about the committee’s work, please contact me: lschott@kentfieldschools.org. And, thank you, KSPTA, for your leadership in addressing this important need.
