Tomorrow we send our fourth graders to Kent and our eighth graders off to high school. Promotions and graduations are among my favorite school events and traditions, but they also make me cry. There is something about the passage of time, the overpowering pride and feelings of accomplishment, and then there is Pomp and Circumstance. If you are celebrating a promotee or graduate, I look forward to congratulating you tomorrow for the irreplaceable role you have played in your child’s journey.

Please accept my wishes for a summer full of discovery, daydreaming, dog-paddling, and dawdling. Thank you for all you have given to our schools this year, most especially your trust in us to educate your children.

See you in September,

Liz Schott
Superintendent
