March 13, 2020, closure

Dear Kentfield School District Community,

Based on the recommendation (Spanish version) of the Marin County Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Bacich and Kent Schools will close at the end of school today. We plan to reopen on March 30th to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in Marin County.

Teachers have been preparing packets and online learning opportunities this week in order to be ready for this eventuality. Please read Sally Peck’s and Grant Althouse’s articles in this week’s newsletter for more information on what the continuation of teaching and learning will look like in our District.

We are aware that some families may need an additional device for their students to use during the school day at home. Please let us know by returning this form if this applies to you. In addition, low cost internet options exist. Internet For All Now and Comcast Internet Essentials are two such options.

Students who qualify for free or reduced lunch at school will be provided with food throughout the school closure. Students or their parents may come to the District Office (750 College Avenue, Kentfield) on Monday at 12:00 p.m. to receive their first meal.

We are learning as we go, and appreciate your patience and offers of help. There may be opportunities to call on you to lend your expertise in the coming weeks and months. Please feel free to contact any one of the administrators with comments or questions.

Sincerely,
