Kent Falcons News
Greetings Kent Community,
Homework Club – Starting on Monday, November 8 we will be offering a Homework Club in the Library after school from 3:30 to 4:45 p.m on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. Homework Club is designed for students who need a quiet and supported location to study and complete homework assignments. Two teachers will be present each day to support children in organizing assignments and completing daily homework tasks. Students may access school Chromebooks during Homework Club, and a small snack will be available each day. If your child needs a quiet, safe, and supported environment to complete homework assignments and studying, please encourage them to attend Homework Club starting next Monday!
Friday’s Principals’ Coffee – Please plan to join Assistant Principal Wendy Homes, English Language Arts Department Chair Shannon Janney, and me for this Friday’s Principal Coffee at Kent, focused on Literacy Instruction at our school. During this presentation and discussion, we will model key instructional strategies, provide an overview of the structure and purpose behind reading and writing workshop, and discuss ways to support our middle school readers and writers at home. Spanish translation will be available, and the session will be able to be viewed by online participants through this link. Please join us this Friday, November 5 at 8:45 a.m. in the Kent Library for a warm cup of coffee, and a productive conversation about reading and writing at middle school!

Basketball Coaches Needed!
Our 6th grade girls, 7th grade boys and 7th grade girls teams are all in need of good coaches. Our season starts soon and we would not want our Falcons to be left without leaders this year. The commitment is just one practice and one game a week (games start after the new year). No coach = no team, so if you or anyone you know is willing to step up and help out, please contact Ryan Palmer, the Kent Athletic Director at rpalmer@kentfieldschools.org.
Go Falcons!
