Marin County Public Works Notice

Storm Drainage Culvert Cleaning between Wolfe Grade and Laurel Grove

The Marin County Department of Public Works has completed the inspection of all of the storm drainage culverts on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard (SFD) from Highway 101 to Ross. The inspection identified the culverts that need cleaning. The required cleaning work is expected to begin August 26th and is expected to be completed by the end of October. The work will result in improved storm water drainage throughout the SFD corridor.

The majority of the storm drainage work will be conducted between Wolfe Grade and Laurel Grove, and will be completed by September 9, 2019. There will be additional crossing guards provided in addition to those in place for the schools in order to ensure the safe passage of walkers/bikers. There will be crew members, work vehicles and equipment on site during construction hours of 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Culvert Inspection work may be conducted at night from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., Sunday through Friday.

Please be aware that there will be intermittent lane closures; however, all efforts will be made to minimize potential traffic delays. After the completion of the work between Wolfe Grade and Laurel Grove, there will be additional, smaller work sites spread out along the SFD corridor from Ross Terrace to Eliseo Drive. The work will be intermittent and require a few hours’ time at each location.

Any questions, please email sfdrakeimprovements@marincounty.org.
